Tru-Thread Ltd was established over 30 years ago as a gauge manufacturer and grinding specialist, producing gauges to national, international and industry related standards. The company became approved to BS 5750 in 1986 and has maintained this standard through to its current level of ISO 9001 : 2000.

In 1987 the company acquired accreditation to API Q1 and was licensed to manufacture master gauges for specifications 5B, 7 and 11B. The company now started to specialise in gauges used in the oil and gas industries. The company has continued to specialise in this area and is now a world leader in production and calibration of API gauges.

The company became approved to issue NAMAS certificates in 1987 and has maintained its metrology laboratory to date. It is now approved to ISO 17025 : 2005 by UKAS and has issued in excess of  50,000 certificates.

The company was acquired by the present owner in 2002 and became part of RF Holdings Ltd. Through continuous investment in personnel and facilities the company has grown in the oil and gas market and is now expanding in the aerospace market through accreditation to AS9100. In 2007 the company moved to the present location with a purpose built laboratory and improved manufacturing and administration facilities to continue its growth in its specialist markets.

Other companies within the group are Auto Engineering Supplies Ltd and Rubbernek Fittings Ltd whose main activities are CNC machinery and the supply of high quality hydraulic fittings respectively.
